Hi Wooshin, I took some time to study LKFS and I think there are 3 options that need to be chosen. Option 1) Normalize loudness directly when transcoding audio stream in headend Option 2) Measure loudness only when transcoding audio stream and save the measured data. Let player side adjusts loudness according to the data. Option 3) Normalizes loudness in player side How do you think ? Because the IPTV player is not implemented by us so I think this issue needs to be discussed with SPtek together and then go to next step. Best Regards, Jacky |

From the LKFS measure data you provided, we can see the different dB level in different IPTV channels. However, for our side, we only can adjust all the channels to higher/lower some dB values through volume table according to different kind of streams, ex: BTV, NUGU, MUSIC etc. But, we can't distinguish one specific BTV channel from all BTV channels in our layer in SWAN software architecture. |

Hi Wooshin, Because we have few DVT3 devices, we are trying to arrange a DVT3 box to our QA for testing. And we also need to book the lab and QA resource to do it. Please also note, because passthrough mode is enabled as you requested, only AAC TS stream will be tested (Becasue AC3 will be passthrough to HDMI side and it is not able to test) |

Hi Wooshin, The attached file is the HDMI out LKFS test result to use 6 ts files in https://mantis.cnsbg.foxconn.com/vaas/view.php?id=1179#c7168. We use a special image to always unmute HDMI to do the test. I am not sure if this meet your requirement or not. If you have any suggestion or comment, please let us know. |

Hi Wooshin, Sure, we will support it. But from the result, it seems 6 test streams has big different volume values. We need to know which one should be adjusted to which value to meet your requirement. I think we can ignore CM5000_AAC value because it is more louder than others (I also notice CM5000_AAC is louder in Eagle's measurement in mantis 1179). But except CM5000_AAC, the gap between the max(-30.45) and min(-24.79) is 5.66, So, it is impossible to adjust it to -24db+- 2db. If we do not consider CM5000_AAC, we can only adjust these 5 streams to -24db+-3db, is this ok for you? Current SWAN dbfs value in Max 32 level in previous attached result: CM5000_AAC: -11.42 IP_ALC_TS_OUT_AAC: -24.79 SBS_CM500_AAC: -29.78 CM5000_AC3: -30.45 IP_ALC_TS_OUT_AC3: -24.89 SBC_AC3: -29.78 |
